Local Honey, Bold Blooms & the Magic of a Perfect Fit: Meeting Leslie at Sterling Street Market

At the Sterling Street Market this past weekend, I met Leslie from The Daly Apiary in Sterling, MA—an absolute light and a kindred spirit. She was across from my booth selling local honey (which I’ve been desperately looking for—hello, allergy season and daily tea rituals!).

Metaphorically, she was like a bee drawn to a bloom—instinctively pulled toward this hand-drawn floral rash guard from my Umindak Rash Guard Collection. I never tell someone which design to choose—it’s important that each person finds the one that calls to them. But if they’re debating between options and ask for my take, I love offering a little guidance.

In Leslie’s case, she knew. The moment she slipped it on, it was like the print had been waiting for her. The fit hugged her just right—soft, flattering, and confidence-boosting. She radiated in it. We chatted about how versatile it is too: dress it up with a flowy tulle skirt, wear it with solid leggings or joggers for everyday comfort, or even style it for yoga, walking, or movement.

That’s the power of this piece—it’s comfort-forward, sweat-friendly, and totally unique. Art that moves with you.

Leslie reminded me why I create these pieces: not just to wear, but to live in. To feel powerful, grounded, and seen.
