I Can Do Hard Things

Lately, I’ve been moving through a rainbow of emotions.

Preparing for the Berkshire Yoga Festival. Managing the stress of my day job. Showing up for myself in ways that are new and uncomfortable. Sometimes it’s exciting. Other times, it’s exhausting. And honestly? There have been plenty of moments where I stop and ask myself: Why am I doing this?

I don’t talk much about my 9–5, out of respect. But I recently got some difficult news that shook me. It wasn’t earth-shattering, but it reminded me of just how many things I’m holding right now. And in those moments of overwhelm, I come back to this truth: I can do hard things.

Doing hard things doesn’t always look brave. Sometimes it looks like crying in the car. Sometimes it’s stretching through the discomfort on my yoga mat. Sometimes it’s leaning into the words of people who love me when I can’t find my own.

When you’re building something meaningful, it doesn’t always feel magical. It’s emotional. It’s messy. It asks more of you than you think you can give. But if you stay with it, it will shape you—not just your vision, but your spirit. And slowly, it starts to feel worth it.

Movement has been saving me. Aerial yoga. Barre. Long walks. Being in my body helps bring my mind back into balance. Because I know this for sure: creativity, joy, and peace can't thrive in a body that’s neglected. When we nourish the body, the mind softens. The heart opens.

This moment in my life is teaching me how to cope, how to root deeper into who I am. And while it’s not always easy, I’m growing. I’m healing. I’m creating.

So if you’re in a hard place too, know this:
You don’t need to be fearless.
You just need to be real.
To keep showing up.
To keep moving.
To believe that even now, there’s something unfolding.

If you’re going to be at the Berkshire Yoga Festival (June 12–15, 2025), come say hi. I’ll be there launching Umindak—my line of wearable art that’s been years in the making. Let’s celebrate doing the hard things together. Visit berkshireyogafestival.com for details.
