Eunoia and the Quiet Power of Balance

Eunoia (pronounced yoo-NOY-uh) is a Greek word that means “a well-balanced mind.”

At the Berkshire Yoga Festival, I had the joy of meeting Rosie, a yoga instructor visiting from Florida. She chose the Eunoia tee from my booth, drawn in by the word’s meaning and energy. W
atching her light up in it reminded me why I made that piece in the first place.

The past six years have been a journey back to myself—learning to care for my mental and emotional health through creativity, aerial yoga, and deep reflection. It hasn’t always been graceful. There were long stretches of grief, uncertainty, and big life changes I never saw coming.

But here’s the thing about healing: sometimes you don’t see the progress until you’re in the middle of a storm—and realize you’re not breaking.

Art became my anchor. Journaling became my mirror. Aerial yoga taught me how to trust again—my breath, my grip, my body. These practices layered over time until I noticed something subtle but profound: I was coping better. I wasn’t unraveling like I used to. I was meeting stress with more steadiness, more clarity.

Balance isn’t a fixed
point. It shifts, like breath or tide. But when I saw Rosie in that tee, arms wide and smiling, I felt it: Eunoia in motion. Proof that this practice of tending to yourself—even quietly, imperfectly—is worth it.

So here’s to the moments you don’t crumble. The moments you notice you’re handling it. The moments yo
u realize: I’m okay.

That’s Eunoia.
