Where It All Starts

A lot of my ideas don’t begin in the studio.

They begin when I least expect it—a color that stops me, a photo I can’t shake, a shape I scribble on the back of a receipt. But eventually, it all leads me here.

I brought a few friends to Earth and Aerial Yoga for a photo shoot. But this moment on the staircase wasn’t part of the plan.

They were just talking—resting between takes, laughing about something I don’t even remember. It wasn’t posed, but it captured everything I hope Umindak stands for.

These two T-shirts were created exclusively for the Berkshire Yoga Festival—and they began with nothing more than black markers, watercolor, and breath.

Each design started with slow, intuitive linework—guided by a Zentangle-inspired rhythm, layered with my own free-flowing illustration style. What emerged was quiet, grounded, and alive.

I digitized the originals so they could move with others—just for this event.

This collaboration is no longer available—but the spirit behind it still lives in every piece I create.
